Why Play Box Lacrosse?

  • A great version of lacrosse to learn how to handle pressure and move fast
  • Improve Stick Skills and Shooting Accuracy: Box lacrosse enhances stick skills and shooting accuracy, contributing to their overall proficiency in the game.
  • Enhanced Toughness and Physicality: The contact and quicker ball movement in box lacrosse help develop greater toughness, which can be beneficial when transitioning back to the field game.
  • Improved Decision Making and Game Instincts: Playing box lacrosse helps improve decision-making abilities, fitness levels, ability to protect the ball, and instincts for dodging, translating to better performance in field lacrosse.
  • Transferable Skills for Goalkeepers: Box lacrosse provides valuable experience for goalkeepers, improving skills such as tracking the ball, positioning, and overall performance in both box and field lacrosse

“If I had my choice, I would have every player under the age of 12 play box lacrosse exclusively or at least a majority of the time. The number of touches of the ball and the ability to develop better stick skills in a game of box lacrosse far surpasses what happens on a field."
